Jennifer Newman
The study of ceramics inspired Jennifer Newman to become a mixed media artist. Her fascination with different processes led her to the layering and use of minerals, oils, pigments and marble; patenting precious metals; and using crushed, raw precious and semi-precious stones across her artwork. The resin element creates a contrast between dynamic earth and water. By capturing these trapped moments in time, Jennifer is able to expose, reveal and share with others the hidden beauty of the earth.
“Through time and pressure beauty is created. We mine the soul to find precious things so that we can bring this to the surface.
Now living in England, Jennifer Newman was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1961.
Jennifer studied ceramics and sculpture at the Witwatersrand Technikon which is now known as The University of Johannesburg in South Africa. She has been greatly influenced by the journeys she has made both living and working in many countries abroad. The study of clay has influenced the use of surface and texture, using natural earth pigments, minerals, oil paints and patinated silver leaf. The resin element creates a contrast between dynamic earth and water.
Jennifer’s work has been exhibited internationally and bought by Private collectors, Luxury Hotels, cruise liners, Super yachts, Embassies, and professional/corporate establishments worldwide.
Jennifer Newman’s premium collection is exclusive to Beumée Contemporary Fine Art.
Exhibitions include: Nelson Mandela Museum, S.A.

The Thames SOLD
“The iconic shape of The Thames is a timeless reminder of the power of London and it’s remarkable history. The river holds centuries of memories with the ebb and flow of the tides leading out into the ocean. Using minerals, salt, precious metals and oil paints – these elements are all trapped under the watery quality of the resin.”
